Good morning Readers:
I thought I would re-introduce a well known Christmas Carol, written by Charles Wesley, 1707-1788, which you can hum to yourself, as you get into the Christmas spirit.
Hark! the herald Angels sing,
Glory to the new-born King,
Peace on earth and mercy mild,
God and sinner reconcil’d.
Hark! the herald Angels sing,
Glory to the new-born King.
Joyful all ye nations rise,
Join the triumph of the skies,
With the angelic host proclaim,
Christ is born in Bethlehem.
Hark! the herald Angels sing,
Glory to the new-born King.
Christ by highest Heaven ador’d,
Christ the everlasting Lord!
Late in time behold him come,
Offspring of a virgin’s womb.
Hark! the herald Angels sing,
Glory to the new-born King.
Every Christmas, we hope for “Peace on earth and goodwill towards men”. This is what we should strive for in this Christmas season and into the New Year of 2024. The choir of King’s College, Cambridge is a joy to listen to, during the Christmas season.
Everyone, whether you celebrate Christmas or celebrate other religious holidays, our faith is personal, but I know we will all be praying for P E A C E for all countries at war, around the world.
Thinking about gift giving at Christmas? A book or two, is always a good Christmas gift to give a loved one, a relative or a friend. I would love to think that you may choose my two poetry books, as gifts for Christmas, and of course, think about buying one for yourself. My two poetry books are, “The Mists of Time” and “Waking Up To Beauty.” The poems in these books, are a mixture of pastoral, mystic, romantic, war and climate change, and everyday life. Something for everyone.
Don’t forget, if you like my books, please write a review. You will find out how, through my website. Both books also come in ePub format. This means that when you buy the books in this format, they will be uploaded to your devices, almost instantly. So, no waiting for the post to come.
Wishing all Readers of my website a Happy Christmas and New Year. I hope you enjoy reading my Blogs on this website. I know many of you are scattered around the world, and are of different religions and faiths. I wish you every happiness as you celebrate your religious festivals and holidays, which may also be occurring around the same time as Christmas. It is a good time to be with family and friends, coming together, celebrating together.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all.
Best wishes,
Anne
