POETRY IN MOTION

Hello Readers:

I hope your summer has been enjoyable. Have you had time to read any poetry?

The Olympic Games have finished, but what a show. Pure poetry in motion. What do I mean by this? It could mean, graceful, fluid movement. This is exactly, what the athletes gave us.
The athletes are so finely tuned, and beautiful to watch. The winning, the losing, what excitement. It took our breath away; we love a challenge, don’t we?

The courage of the athletes, their bravery and their stamina, sets a high standard. We all wish, quietly, that we could take part in an Olympic Games, to be glorious in the winning, and gracious in the losing. Just taking part is magnificent in itself. I’m sure you all had your favourite sporting events you liked to watch.

Poetry is found every where. I think we are all feeling the post-Olympic Games blues. Yes, down in the dumps, you might say, after it has finished, we miss the excitement of it. Now, looking back, as we all do, we try to re-capture the glorious moments. I’m sure the athletes must relive their moments in the race, and perhaps on the podium; receiving a medal. Yes, gold is the ultimate prize, but just to be placed second or third, is an honour too.

There are many poets who write about sport, this is their time. I’m sure there has been a poem or two written about the Olympic Games, and the athletes too. About their magnificence in winning, the thrill of it all. The disbelief of getting a gold medal; this moment will live with them forever.

My poetry book, The Mists of Time, is not about sport, but I think you will like the poems. Austin Macauley Publishers released my book on April 30, 2021. The poems tell stories, about love lost, and love found, and about beauty and nature. What would we do without these?

My book is available in bookstores around the world, and also online. You can also buy it from Austin Macauley’s website: https://www.austinmacauley.com/book/mists-time, and if you like it, you could write a review too.

Thanks for visiting my website.

All the best,

Anne
