Good morning Readers,
It’s good to be back again, and bringing you news
of my second poetry book, ‘Waking Up to Beauty.’ This was
published by Austin Macauley Publishers, on April 29, 2022.
I’m excited about this, and I hope that you are
too, and that you will look forward to reading this new poetry book.
Reading poetry, is different to the way you would
read a novel. Find a quiet spot, perhaps in your summer house, with
a cup of tea or coffee, with no other distractions around you, and just read
one or two poems. You may like to flick through the book, and choose another
poem to read, something that has caught your eye. You will find that
poetry soothes the soul. You may like to re-read a poem, to further gain
more insight into the poet’s words.
I hope my poetry paints a picture in your mind as
you read it, and in fact, on reflection too, you may think about it, and the
picture it leaves with you. I still have the picture of William Wordsworth’s
poem, called ‘The Daffodils’, etched in my mind. I can see the
daffodils “beside the lake, beneath the trees, fluttering and
dancing in the breeze.” This is an example of how a poem can affect you,
and leave the beauty with you, throughout your life.
In ancient and medieval times, poetry was a way of
remembering many things, and passing stories and poems down from generation to
generation. The history of poetry is vast, and it would be good for you
to do some research into this subject, it’s so interesting.
I hope you will buy my new poetry book, ‘Waking
Up to Beauty’, I think you will like it. There is also an e-book format,
which you may prefer to buy, as you can upload it to any device, which will
make it more accessible for you.
My poetry book ‘Waking Up to Beauty’,
is available to buy from Austin Macauley, see website:
https://www.austinmacauley.com/book/waking-beauty.
It is also available at Amazon Worldwide, The Book
Depository, Barnes and Noble as well as most major online retailers. Some
bookstores may stock my book in-store, however, it can be ordered from any
bookshop regardless of whether it’s stocked in-store.
I do hope you will delve into poetry reading more
and more. This will open up a whole new frontier of new interest and
appreciation; just as it would, when listening to classical music. Both are
equally good for the soul.
I hope you will find time to enjoy my new poetry
book.
Anne
